NQTs

Last year, every NQT who was trained in the Borders and wanted to stay managed to find employment during the year, although some of the employment was part-time or temporary. Nationally, the figures looked quite different, with one or two authorities finding not a single place for an NQT. We do not know what the figure will look like this year, although we do know there are 41 primary students and 30 secondary students about to become NQTs here in August. However, it is hoped that the great majority will find work in the Borders.
